Technology Travel Guidelines
Of the following options, which one best describes your travel?
Traveling in an official capacity
All UK employees and students traveling, in an official capacity, to locations outside of the United States of America. For employees this may mean training/conference attendance, research, site visits, and/or carrying out your normal day-to-day responsibilities elsewhere. For students this may mean participating in internships for course credit, course work, research, study abroad programs, and/or participating in events/camps/competitions where you are representing UK in a formal capacity, etc.
Traveling for personal reasons
All UK employees and students traveling for personal travel and/or personal travel where the individual may still be accessing UK technology resources (e.g., email, chat, checking grades, class registration, file storage, access to Epic) on their personal devices.

Following cybersecurity policy during travel helps protect university data, personal information, & research from cyber threats such as hacking, phishing, & device theft.
What if I'm traveling in both a personal and official capacity in the same trip?
If you are traveling under an Official University capacity for part of your trip and in a personal capacity for another part of your trip, be sure to refer to the Official Capacity Travel Guidelines in addition to the Personal Travel Guidelines.
