Welcome to the UK ITS resource hub for working with minors. When you are involved in programs that engage K-12 students, it is crucial to understand the best practices, policies, and legal requirements associated with these interactions. Our goal is to ensure a safe, enriching, and compliant environment for all minors participating in Information Technology Services Events.

Instructions for Minors Involved in University-Sponsored Programs or Programs Held at the University.

  1. At least fourteen (14) days prior to the start of a new program, or as soon as is reasonably practical, the program leader shall complete the "University of Kentucky Programs Involving Minors Notification Form".

  3. Ensure that all program staff and any other individuals who will have direct contact with minors have been subject to a criminal background check and a National Sex Offender Public Registry check within the previous five years.
