The Project & Portfolio Management division consists of teams dedicated to ensuring UK HealthCare’s top strategic initiatives are prioritized and supported by IT, in collaboration with the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs (EVPHA) Leadership team.
Project & Portfolio Management
IT Portfolio Management Office (PMO)
The IT Portfolio Management Office (IT PMO) is charged with oversight of all UK HealthCare Information Technology projects, programs, and portfolios. The IT PMO manages UK HealthCare enterprise-wide IT and related initiatives supporting: Facilities expansion and rebuilding, Business Development growth and acquisitions, Ambulatory and Hospital Operations, Finance and Revenue Cycle, Research and Development, College of Medicine Physicians and Nursing, Data and Analytics, Performance Improvement and Quality, Human Resources, and IT Keep the Lights On (KTLO) IT Security, system upgrades and application enhancements.
The IT PMO serves as a central hub for project oversight, governance, and support, ensuring projects are effectively executed and aligned with business objectives. The IT PMO establishes and maintains project management standards and procedures utilizing industry best practices and state-of-the-art technology to ensure projects are performed efficiently, resources are optimally utilized, and progress against projects are uniformly captured and reported to stakeholders.
IT Integrated Testing
Project & Portfolio Management has a robust team for Integrated Testing to provide support for large enterprise projects. The Integrated Testing team ensures that test plans cover the application, match the project’s goals, and testing is on schedule. They design test parameters, scripts, and procedures to meet the project’s objectives. The team executes the test plan, analyzing and reporting all testing outcomes to identify and document defects or issues for resolution. PMO assists with troubleshooting errors and eliminating issues before the project application is fully released. Collaboration is key for the testing team, as it works effectively across the enterprise with other team members and managers to communicate issues and concerns prior to application implementation.
IT Business Analysis
As part of the PMO intake process, the IT Business Analysis Team validates project requirements with various business and technical stakeholders. Along with the PMO and Enterprise Architect teams, the business analysts outline a robust design to meet project requirements and ensure business objectives are met. The team analyzes and reports project information to senior leadership to guide decision-making and prioritization efforts across the enterprise. This team also analyzes and advises on the requirements to safeguard the project’s scope, budget, and human resource support needs across the expected timeline.
