Analog Device Decommission
UK Information Technology Services (UK ITS) will decommission the legacy system providing analog phone services for the University, with a target date of August 30, 2025.
Devices affected: Analog devices, including but not limited to:
- Analog Phones
- Analog Fax Machines
- Analog point of sale devices
- Fire/Security Alarms
- Elevator Phones
- Special Equipment (e.g. refrigeration units, meters, medical equipment)
- Call Boxes
- Building Controls Equipment
- DSL or Modem lines.
- PRI or T1 circuits
Details: Work is underway to disconnect lines that are no longer needed and migrate any remaining analog services. While every attempt is being made to identify all active services, some records may be incomplete due to the system’s age. We are targeting completion by August 30, 2025. This date may be adjusted based on project completion. We are committed to meeting this goal and will navigate any challenges that arise with that target in mind.
If you have an analog device, please fill out the Change to Analog Phone/Fax form or contact ITS Customer Services at 859-218-HELP (4357) before August 30 to ensure no disruption to services.
