On Wednesday, November 16, UK Information Technology Services (UK ITS) will be requiring all public M365 Groups to be set to private. This is to further enhance the cybersecurity posture for our University community. Any owner of a public M365 Group will receive a notification informing them of this upcoming change.

 

What are the differences between public and private M365 Groups?

Public M365 Groups enable anyone at UK to see the contents of the group or have the ability to join the group. A private group can only be seen by the members of the group and people who want to join a private group have to be approved by a group owner.
