Why should I switch to the app?

At the University of Kentucky, we value keeping your data and systems safe, which is why we require multi-factor authentication (MFA) via Duo for most of our technology resources. However, not all MFA methods are created equal when it comes to security.

It's time to stop the texts. Authenticating via the Duo mobile app is simply the better option.
  • More secure - Using text messages for MFA can leave you vulnerable to certain types of attacks.
  • No cell service needed – Unlike texts, you can use the Duo Mobile app to generate passcodes without cell service or internet.
  • Quickly verify – Simply tap “Approve” in the app and you are on your way!

Enroll your device now in the Duo app for an easier, faster, and more secure method of MFA. The Duo Mobile app is free and offers enhanced security features better than text messages.
