What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

We provide physical infrastructure for wired and wireless networking, telephone (analog and VOIP). This includes fiber, coaxial, and various types of Cat6a ethernet cabling.  

What campus units do you collaborate with?

We partner with Campus, HealthCare, Athletics, UKPD, UKPPD & Delta Room, ESPN, SEC Nation, UKHC & campus remote sites, and new construction. We also coordinate our efforts with external vendors such as Windstream, Spectrum, Data Strategy, and Anixter. 

What are your workplace values?

Integrity, communication, and follow up. Communicating excellent customer service, both internally and externally. Being there to help and support our UK team members when questions need to be addressed. We strive to be efficient with our client’s time, cordial with our conversations to students, staff & faculty, and knowledgeable when training clients with new equipment. Honesty about scope, budget, and schedule is our greatest value. Keeping our stakeholders up-to-date with the immediate status of their project is essential as they prepare to utilize the network. 

What is your favorite part of working in ITS and UK?

I’ve made great friends over the years at UK. I like the fact that I work with a lot of different individuals across campus and UK HealthCare. The wonderful feeling of accomplishment when a job is complete and the customer is happy.  I like knowing you can count on our team (ITS)  to pull together to get a job done, no matter the circumstances.
