UK Information Technology Services (UK ITS) offers a variety of methods to reach out for technical assistance. Whether you prefer calling or filling out your needs online, UK ITS offers options for the University community to get technical assistance when they need it. In continued efforts to provide exceptional customer service to the University community, UK ITS would like to remind students, faculty, and staff of the available options for requesting technical assistance. 

  • Urgent Technical Assistance: For immediate technical support, the UK community may contact the dedicated support team at 859-218-HELP (4357). Trained professionals will be available to address urgent concerns promptly. 

  • Non-Urgent Matters: Students, faculty, and staff with non-urgent inquiries can take advantage of the Tech Help chat service or fill out the Customer Services Assistance Request form.   • Tech Help Center: UK’s one-stop-shop for how-to articles, available technology training, technology-related policies, and more. Visit techhelpcenter.uky.edu at any time to find the answers to frequently asked questions about technology at UK. 

  • IT Service Requests: Specific requests for IT services, such as network or phone-related inquiries or estimates, should be submitted using the appropriate form available in the Tech Help Center Self Service. All Self Service forms can be found via the ITS Service Catalog link found in the top right corner of the Tech Help Center. These forms simplify the request process and approval workflow by gathering all required information and providing it to the appropriate team. 

As part of UK ITS’s efforts to streamline processing requests and provide more efficient and effective support services, UK ITS will no longer process requests for assistance via the email address 218help@uky.edu, effective September 5, 2023. As an often inefficient method of gathering information needed to provide the best customer support, UK ITS recommends any of the previously mentioned methods for seeking technical assistance. 

After September 5, any email that is sent to 218help@uky.edu will receive an auto-reply informing the customer of the other methods available to them in order to receive technical assistance. UK ITS appreciates the cooperation from the UK community as they continue to seek improved communication and customer support for students, faculty, and staff.
