UK ITS launches new UK Software Downloads site on November 24

On November 24, the University of Kentucky community will experience a redesigned UK Software Downloads site.  

UK Information Technology Services (UK ITS) would like to inform students, faculty and staff that the new site will require Single Sign-On using your UK credentials.  

The newly designed will provide a secure, streamlined experience for the campus community through Microsoft SharePoint.  

The new UK Software Downloads site is available at https://luky.sharepoint.com/sites/downloads.

What’s changing?

Beginning Monday, November 24, 2025, the current UK Software Downloads site at download.uky.edu will transition to a new platform hosted in Microsoft SharePoint.  

What will the new site look like?

The landing page will display all available software through a SharePoint-hosted site. If you are already signed in to Microsoft 365 (M365), you will not need to log in again.  

If you are not signed in, the new site will require Single Sign-On (SSO) using your UK credentials.

Once signed in, the users will see the same software resources you regularly access.  

Why the change?

This update enhances security and simplifies maintenance, ensuring UK ITS can continue to provide reliable access to essential software for students, faculty and staff.

What do you need to do?

On or after November 24, visit https://luky.sharepoint.com/sites/downloads and follow the instructions on the landing page.

Be prepared to use Single Sign-On with your UK account credentials.

If you’re already logged into M365, you’ll be connected automatically.
