Burr Named CISO for UK & UK HealthCare

Stephen Burr has been named the Enterprise Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for both the University and UK HealthCare.  This decision aligns with the commitment by UK Information Technology Services to strengthen the cybersecurity posture and streamline IT services across the UK enterprise.

Stephen has worked at UK for over 20-years in a variety of leadership roles, including analytics, enterprise systems, and operations.  He has most recently served as the leader of cybersecurity for UK.  In addition, Stephen has an MBA from UK and holds multiple certifications (e.g., CISSP, GSLC, CPHIMS).

As the digital landscape continues to rapidly evolve, cybersecurity is more critical now than ever.  With the expertise of both campus and UK HealthCare cybersecurity teams working together collaboratively, UK ITS will continue to advance key security initiatives, safeguard information systems, and support the mission of the University of Kentucky.
