The Stuckert Career Center (Career Center) is the operational center of University Career Services for the Lexington campus. The Career Center provides comprehensive career development programming, resources, and services for students and recent graduates.

Talk about the ways you’ve collaborated with ITS and how it impacted your work.

The Career Center has collaborated with ITS and the Office of Student Employment to identify fraudulent job opportunities that have been circulated to students. Unfortunately, employment scams and attempts to secure personal information from students via employment fraud have been on the rise. Often, these opportunities appear to originate from legitimate UK email accounts and sometimes they include the names of campus offices and/or officials in order to create a false sense of legitimacy. We're working to increase awareness among students and the campus community about known fraud attempts and some of the common ways to identify fraudulent job opportunities. ITS has been a vital partner in this work and has provided screenshots and detailed visual examples of the tactics that scammers use when communicating these fraudulent opportunities.
