ITS Division: Institutional Research, Analytics & Decision Support (IRADS)

Service Area: Business Process Improvement

Describe what you do at ITS in one sentence.

I create self-service, interactive reports and gather information that helps answer data-related questions at the University, and while I’m normally focused on the student success realm, I have also had the privilege of developing the solutions needed for data maintenance and reporting for Health Corps since the start of the pandemic.

Name something about the work you or your team does that you are most proud of.

I love that the IRADS team helps other units on campus operate more efficiently by providing them with all the data they might need to conduct business. It's always great to hear that a dashboard or report we've created has saved the unit copious amounts of time to do a certain process or opened their eyes to new opportunities for success or growth.

What is something you enjoy doing outside of work?

I actually just recently moved to Cleveland, OH with my boyfriend (and am working for UK remotely!) so I have enjoyed getting to explore a new city and all that it has to offer for food and fun activities. I also love spending time with our "pandemic pup", a golden retriever named Boone after the county in KY I grew up in.

Best advice you ever received?

My high school soccer coach once clipped out a newspaper article for me that explained "paralysis by analysis". Ironic now that my profession is literally analysis! But for my fellow perfectionists out there, I think the sentiment of "don't let perfection get in the way of good enough" is a nice reminder every now and again.
