Service Area: Utilities and Network GIS

What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

We design, build, and maintain specialized Geographic Information Services (GIS) solutions for all underground and interior infrastructures across campus. Currently, we are building a master system of record for the entire fiber optics and utilities infrastructures called GeoCATS (Geospatial Consolidated Analysis and Tracking System). This system provides a digital model of “real-world” detailed information about the location, material, and condition of our critical infrastructures.  

What campus units do you collaborate with?

Campus Physical Plant Division, Utilities and Energy Management, Network and Communications, Enterprise Systems, Asset Management, Capital Project Management, Medical Center Physical Plant 

What are your workplace values?

I value teamwork and collaboration to develop high-quality and thoroughly tested technologies that will serve the people and processes of the University. All of these serve as mechanisms to support our long-term vision of becoming one of the most innovative campuses across the nation when it comes to the use of technology.
