ITS Division: Networking & Infrastructure

Service Area: Network Engineering

What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

The Networking & Infrastructure division is responsible for maintaining the UK Campus and HealthCare wireless infrastructures, which include almost 8,500 access points. We prepare the network and access points for deployments and upgrades, assist with installations, and monitor wireless activity – working to avoid outages and eliminate obstructions to the smooth flow of communication. We assist customers with connecting wireless devices and help with any technical needs. Like the rest of ITS, we constantly look for ways to improve the stability, speed, and security of communications between users and network resources.

What campus units do you collaborate with?

We collaborate and partner with many groups across UK while completing projects, coordinating events, and assisting new students onboard to eduroam.

What are your workplace values?

Quality and consistency.  Knowing that when a project or task is complete, that you have done the best job possible and are proud of the results.

What is your favorite part of working in ITS and UK?

My favorite part is our close-knit team. We all have our individual expertise that we share with one another to help solve problems and grow.
