Two new ESI exam policies become effective on January 16, 2023.

•    No-shows. To help ensure that all learners who want to earn Microsoft Certifications have the opportunity to take the associated exams, Microsoft has updated its exam no-show policy—that is, the policy for learners who register for a certification exam but do not take it at the scheduled time. Learners who miss any scheduled exams in a rolling 180-day period are required by a Microsoft Certification exam partner to pay a refundable deposit when they schedule their next one. If they miss the rescheduled exam without canceling or rescheduling within 24 hours of the exam date, they will forfeit the deposit.

•    Exam cap. Microsoft has capped—at two—the number of exams that a learner can have scheduled, whether on the same day or on separate days.
