Service Area: Joint Services Operation Center (JSOC)

What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

Currently, the JSOC supports all wired and wireless infrastructure.  We assist in anything from an end-user unable to connect to eduroam, or widespread outages affecting remote sites, campus, & HealthCare.  The JSOC has been pivotal in mitigating network outages and reducing the overall impact experienced by our customers.

What campus units do you collaborate with?

We are fortunate to collaborate with groups across UK-- from Healthcare to campus, including Athletics.

What are your workplace values?

A strong work ethic and motivation to continue to grow in both my personal and professional life.  Don’t forget to ask for help!   

What is your favorite part of working in ITS and UK?

Being fresh in the technology industry, the opportunity to work with knowledgeable colleagues on top of such a diverse infrastructure has been invaluable to my growth as a professional.  The ability to get hands-on experience in the platforms you work on and see the areas they support has made for a fun first couple of years!
