New IT Leadership Positions Named for UK ITS and UK HealthCare
Following an extensive nationwide search, UK HealthCare announces the appointment of Katie Dickens in the role of chief digital and information officer (CDIO). Dickens will report directly to Brian Nichols, enterprise chief information officer of UK.
Dickens will have responsibility for leadership and oversight of the UK HealthCare Information Technology team, serving as chief strategist for information technology planning and implementation within UK HealthCare, as well as a change agent for digital health technologies. As CDIO, she will oversee Health Information Management (HIM), the chief nursing information officer and clinical/Epic information services (specifically acute, pharmacy, ambulatory, revenue cycle, imaging radiology and patient financial). This announcement comes as part of an enhanced shared services initiative with UK Information Technology Services and UK HealthCare IT. Additionally, Roger Hensley has been named as the Deputy CIO of Enterprise Applications and Outreach. This newly created position will be responsible for specific areas of technology, including enterprise applications, business processes and other key functions.
Roger brings over 20-years of IT experience to the position, including his current role as UK Associate CIO of Enterprise Applications. He previously served in leadership positions in UKHC and at Kings Daughters Medical Center. Roger’s broad range of experience will serve us well as we place a greater focus on customer service, more efficient operations, and enhanced collaboration across the enterprise.
