What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

Our main function is to provide data center services to anyone on campus that needs enterprise grade service and reliability. Data center services include everything from receiving and installing the equipment, cabling, power and cooling to helping troubleshoot problems with the equipment or software as requested by the equipment owners. We also provide inventory tracking services for all the communications closets at the medical center, campus and remote sites. We provide a ScanTron test grading service to any professor or college that needs it and we provide payroll and tax form printing services.

What campus units do you collaborate with?

We collaborate with almost everyone at some point. We collaborate with most the other ITS divisions regularly as well as other IT operations outside ITS. We collaborate with the various colleges to provide them with data center services as well as ScanTron services. We collaborate with the various accounting departments that utilize our printing services and we work closely with the Physical Plant Division to ensure the maintenance needs of the facility are met.

What is your favorite part of working in ITS and UK?

The people. The people at UK, inside ITS and out, are the best. The people I interact with have very diverse backgrounds, have great personality’s and you can always learn something new from them. Everyone at UK is friendly and if you need help, everyone is willing to lend a hand.
