The University of Kentucky has been selected as a final nominee for Excellence in Institution Success in Salesforce.org’s Summit Awards. The Summit Awards are given out annually to recognize schools, colleges, universities and departments that innovate for the better through their use of Salesforce constituent journeys.

This year, UK was selected as a nominee alongside two other institutions in the Institution Success category. This award is given to a “college or university that is using Salesforce to increase operational efficiency in one or more areas of campus.” The winner of this award will be selected by votes from the Salesforce.org education community and announced during Salesforce.org’s Summit Awards virtual event June 16. Vote now at Salesforce.org’s website here.

Since Salesforce technology was implemented at UK in 2016, the product has seen a huge amount of growth in the services offered to the university community. From Education Cloud CRM to Health Cloud CRM to Marketing Cloud to Social Studio, UK has seen great improvement in operational efficiency from areas spanning from student recruitment and retention to COVID-19 response and contact tracing.

Tyler Gayheart, executive director of Enterprise CRM & Salesforce in Information Technology Services, recognizes the importance of the rapid technology implementation at UK in the last couple of years.

“The operational efficiency across the university could not have been possible without the steadfast commitment by our community and leaders to deploy technology to maintain and promote a safe and healthy campus,” Gayheart said. “The nomination from our peers is a direct reflection of that commitment.”

The virtual event hosted by Salesforce.org on June 16 will also feature two presentation sessions from UK, including a case study on how UK re-opened campus during COVID-19. This session will go into detail on how UK used the power of Health Cloud and work.com to support the health and well-being of 30,000 students and 14,000 staff and faculty throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
