Use these communication tools as alternatives to the UK Listserv service

To modernize email communications, University of Kentucky Information (UK ITS) is launching a new effort to encourage Listserv users to explore alternative tools for mailing lists. Because Listserv lists are vulnerable to cybersecurity threats, eliminating inactive Listserv lists and adopting more modern email solutions allow the university to follow best cybersecurity practices.

UK ITS Cybersecurity Assistant wins PNC Wildcat Pitch Competition

With an idea aimed at bridging the gap between cybersecurity literacy and seniors, ultimately, this motivated Abdeldayem to enter the PNC pitch competition on April 26,2025 where she, her brother Naji Abdeldayem, a high school junior, and UK classmate Hannah Hale won first place at the pitch competition and received $5,000 in startup funds for AFO Cyber LLC.

Diana Chandler began her career at the University of Kentucky as a level one service desk analyst. “Back in those days if you called the service desk, I was probably one of the agents that answered and provided support,” she said. Now, nearly 21 years later, Chandler works with the ITS services management team managing the ServiceNow instance on the healthcare side, X matters and other processes essential to managing ITS workflows.
