UK ITS invests in new point-to-point wireless technology for more reliable connectivity and cost savings

Thanks to a recent initiative by University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) Networking and Infrastructure team, one off-campus location now has a point-to-point wireless connection, which will avoid recurring connectivity costs for this location.

UK ITS and UK HealthCare IT install robust network that powers newest floor at Albert B. Chandler Hospital

In February, UK HealthCare’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital opened a new intensive care unit (ICU) floor with remote electronic monitoring abilities (eICU). Behind the scenes, University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) partnered with UK HealthCare IT and collaborated to install the infrastructure and network needed for the latest patient-centered medical technology.

University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) has published its 2023 annual report. The UK ITS report showcases the department’s accomplishments, major projects and strategic goals achieved over the past year.

UK ITS volunteers for STEM night at Lexington Universal Academy

On Friday, February 16th, volunteers from the UK ITS team participated in Lexington Universal Academy's STEM night.  Designed to educate elementary through eighth grade students about science, technology, engineering and math, the UK ITS team led interactive activities and answered questions about technology.

Multi-factor authentication will be required to access University of Kentucky Zoom accounts

Coming soon, University of Kentucky Information Technology Services will implement an additional security measure to Zoom. UK HealthCare's Telehealth instance of Zoom will see this change starting Monday, Feb. 26.

Mozilla released security updates to address vulnerabilities in Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird. A cyber threat actor could exploit one of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.
