UK ITS introduces the Student Tech Checklist for incoming students at annual Tech Takeover event

Over the past few years, a newer tradition has also become part of that week — The Tech Takeover. At the event, thousands of new UK students stop by The Cornerstone to pick up their UK-issued Pads as part of the Smart Campus iPad Initiative. But this year’s Tech Takeover event included a first for new students — the launch of the Student Tech Checklist.

UK ITS Attends Epic's User Group Meeting

Members of UK Information Technology Services and UK HealthCare attended the annual Epic User Group Meeting (UGM). UGM’s annual conference brings together IT and operational leaders from across the globe to learn how to maximize the value of Epic as an electronic health record (EHR) software. Led by women with decades of experience within a variety of tech industries, the panel participants reflected on their individual experiences and career journeys.

Apple Releases Security Updates for Multiple Products

07/30/2024 12:00 PM EDT   Apple released security updates to address vulnerabilities in Safari, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. UK ITS students and staff help remedy global outage at hospitals, clinics

It was all hands-on deck at UK HealthCare facilities as the massive CrowdStrike incident crippled computer systems globally on Friday, July 19. To fix the issues caused by the program, computers need to be manually restarted and then updated with code. The job brought together IT employees from across the university. That included student employees throughout University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) who responded quickly and helped UK HealthCare resume routine care.
