What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

We provide systems that relate to the day-to-day business of the University, including linkblue logins, email, and Skype for Business. Really the collaboration comes from the use of the tools we provide, since these tools affect everybody every day. With our new software from Microsoft, we're looking forward to providing the campus with enhanced security features. Nothing is foolproof, but we aim to provide an insurance policy (in a sense) in order to protect against malicious email threats or corrupted documents. We also oversee Office 365 and we recently enhanced storage options for faculty and staff. Additionally, Office 365 provides a great level of security. 

What campus units do you collaborate with?

Anyone who has an advanced need for our services can come work with us. For example, we help others on campus set up Sharepoint sites and help them utilize file-sharing sites. We work with anyone on who has a Sharepoint site, and we are also working with UK HealthCare for their Office 365 mailbox migration.

What are your workplace values?

For my team, I think of us as a family. I care about all the people that I work with at ITS, and I see them as an extension of my own family.

What is your favorite part of working in ITS and UK?

I like that we've really gotten to be at the cutting edge of technology, especially with our cloud initiatives. In the 30 years that I've been at UK, we've evolved and kept up with advancing technology.
