University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) is seeking speakers for UK_CYBERCON 2026.

If you’re passionate about cybersecurity and would like to participate as a professional, expert, student or researcher, UK ITS wants to hear from you.

Hosted by UK ITS, UK_CYBERCON aims to make cybersecurity education more accessible by hosting multiple panels and tabling sessions, while also serving as a networking platform to engage students, cybersecurity professionals and the UK community.

This year’s UK_CYBERCON will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

UK ITS has several ways for faculty to get involved in this year’s event:   

  • Present: Have an interesting idea about cybersecurity? Submit a proposal to share your insights and expertise. Your voice will help shape the conversation around cybersecurity and help inspire future tech leaders.  
  • Offer Extra Credit for Students: Teaching in the fall? This one's for you! Offer extra credit to your students for attending UK_CYBERCON. Students of all majors can benefit from attending UK_CYBERCON 2026. It's an excellent opportunity for students to learn, network and explore the world of cybersecurity firsthand. UK ITS will have verification methods available to confirm attendance.   
  • Encourage Participation in Our Poster Session: This year’s UK_CYBERCON 2026 will have a poster session for faculty and students to showcase their cybersecurity projects or research. Encourage student participation as part of your coursework or submit a poster yourself! It’s a great way to highlight student work or your research.  
  • Other Opportunities: Whether you want to host a casual cybersecurity chat at a table during the event or help students network, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference at the event.
