LEXINGTON, Ky. — University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) will host UK_CYBERCON 2025, the university’s premier cybersecurity conference, on Friday, October 10, 2025.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness month, and UK ITS invites the public to join students, faculty, industry professionals and federal partners who will explore the latest trends, technologies and career opportunities in cybersecurity.

UK_CYBERCON Coordinator Paul London encourages the UK community and the public to attend.

"Cybersecurity is important for everyone — whether you’re in the classroom or the office," London said. "If you’re a student, IT professional, or are curious about how cybersecurity trends impact us all, UK_CYBERCON will host presentations, research sessions and networking opportunities aimed to benefit anyone with an interest in cybersecurity."

UK_CYBERCON 2025 kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with registration, at the Singletary Center for the Arts. This year’s event is sponsored by Blackwood, CDW, Converge, Splunk, trace3, & Windstream.

9:00AM - Poster sessions, networking, & breakfast  

10:00am - Introductions & career panel event introductions from Chief Information Security Officer Stephen Burr followed by a career panel featuring our platinum sponsors: Blackwood, CDW, Converge, Splunk, trace3, & Windstream.  

11:00am - UK Cybersecurity team presentations  

Noon - Break for lunch & networking  

1:00pm - AI & The Cybersecurity Workforce keynote speaker: Helen Patton  

1:45pm - Hijackers, Hackers, & Payment Fraud Prevention keynote speaker: Kevin Sisler  

3:00pm - Federal agency briefing featuring the FBI & CISA  

4:00pm - Event wrap-up & giveaway announcements. Must be present to win prizes!
