What services do you and your teammates provide to campus?

Our team provides the majority of UK's core infrastructure, including storage, computing systems, cloud computing, web servers, virtualization (including virtual servers, desktops and applications), UNIX/Linux support, and data backups.

What campus units do you collaborate with?

Our work impacts all students, faculty, and staff on campus. When anyone on campus is new to cloud services, we help them get started. Recently, we collaborated with Facilities Management to help implement their cloud services in Microsoft Azure. Recently worked with the College of Design to help them investigate rendering in Amazon Web Services' cloud. I've helped numerous faculty and staff members implement their websites and have assisted with debugging website issues.

What are your workplace values?

I want to be as helpful as possible to our customers, providing the best support in a timely fashion.

What is your favorite part of working in ITS and UK?

I've worked for UK for 33 years. I arrived a student in 1978 and never left. After attaining my undergraduate and graduate degrees I was hired by the Computing Center. UK is an interesting, fun place to work. All of the people in ITS are knowledgeable and I enjoy interacting with them. I've worked with so many students, faculty, and staff over the years and the work continues to be exciting.
