On July 20, 2026, University of Kentucky’s SAP software will transition to a cloud-based system for an updated personalized experience that is more accessible for all users.

Project RISE aims to modernize and improve the way the University uses SAP (read more: https://its.uky.edu/projectRISE).

Ahead of the July 20, 2026, SAP go-live, some student processes and actions will be impacted.

To prepare for the go-live date, all SAP systems will be down during the following times for planned maintenance:  

  • Thursday, July 16 at 6 p.m. - Monday, July 20 at 8 a.m.

What does this downtime mean?

While SAP systems are down, you will not be able to use any applications in the myUK portal built with SAP. This includes, but is not limited to: 

  • myUK GPS (e.g., class registration, add/drop, degree audit) 

  • Transcripts 
  • Financial Aid 
  • Student financials

Tools like Canvas, Zoom, and Microsoft 365 will not be impacted by this downtime.

Important dates you need to know

  • Thursday, July 16 at noon - Monday, July 20 – Ordering transcripts via National Student Clearinghouse unavailable. (Registrar Transcript Page
  • Viewing unofficial transcript will also be unavailable in myUK and in myDocs. 
  • Thursday, July 16 at 5 p.m. - Monday, July 20 – Adding, dropping, withdrawing or registering for a course unavailable  
  • During this time, any student that needs to withdraw from a course will need to complete a form to ensure those changes are made after July 20. Link and information on this form coming soon. 

How can you prepare? 

We encourage students and support staff to complete any actions related to their courses before July 16 if possible. While temporary processes will be in place to capture any necessary changes between July 16 – 20, best experience will be either before July 16 or after July 20.
