UK Libraries, Media Depot Host First Ever 48 Hour Student Film Race

On March 24, the University of Kentucky Libraries, Media Depot and Smart Campus Initiative will kick off the first ever campus-wide “48 Hour Film Race,” an exciting opportunity for students to make a movie – write, shoot, and edit – in just 48 hours. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to participate.

The Student Media Depot @ The Hub is a student digital media space located in the Hub at William T. Young Library. The Media Depot provides; access to recording equipment and space, editing stations with specialized multimedia software, and technical support for students’ development of their academic media projects.

Mozilla has released security updates to address vulnerabilities in Firefox ESR and Firefox. An attacker could exploit some of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system. CISA encourages users and administrators to review Mozilla’s security advisories for Firefox ESR 102.7 and Firefox 109 for more information and apply the necessary updates.

UK, FCPS to celebrate Girls Who Game partnership

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 18, 2022) — Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) students who participate in Girls Who Game, will celebrate a recently launched program in partnership with the University of Kentucky this Saturday, Jan. 21. The STEM-focused, learner-driven program, Girls Who Game, was created by Dell Technologies, Intel and Microsoft to engage female students by providing opportunities to develop STEM and leadership skills while gaming.
