New network upgrades provide more robust connectivity at Eastern State Hospital
Over the past year, University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) partnered with Eastern State Hospital leadership to implement a series of multi-phased network upgrades that replaced wireless access points (APs), switches and firewalls with minimal service disruptions for hospital staff and patients. The goal of the upgrades was to make the network faster, more reliable, and easier to manage and support.
UK ITS invites students to explore the new myUK portal
University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) is excited to announce the launch of the new myUK portal — Student Preview at preview.myuk.uky.edu. UK ITS invites students to try out the redesigned portal beginning Dec. 8, 2025, that will make managing academic life easier and more intuitive. UK students with active linkblue accounts can log in and explore new features designed to simplify the myUK experience.

Because Listserv lists are vulnerable to cybersecurity threats, eliminating inactive Listserv lists and adopting more modern email solutions allow the university to follow best cybersecurity practices.
UK ITS completes major upgrade of university’s E911 system
Recently, University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS), in partnership with UKPD, completed a major upgrade of the university’s E911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) system.
This system, crucial to emergency response operations across campus, comprises critical infrastructure that allows UKPD to receive and manage responses to 911 calls.

For the past six months, University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) teams have worked to replace its data integration system for UK HealthCare.
InterSystems Health Connect, an on-premise system, replaced the Enterprise Integration and Interoperability (EII) platform previously used with Epic.

Employees are invited to use new myUK portal as part of preview
University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (UK ITS) is excited to announce the launch of the new myUK portal — Employee Public Preview at preview.myuk.uky.edu.
This preview of the new myUK portal invites employees with active linkblue accounts to get early access to functions, including requesting and approving time off and enrolling in benefits, inside a newly designed portal. Employees can preview the new myUK portal beginning May 27, 2025.
