University-wide Navigation

This July, University of Kentucky’s SAP software will transition to a cloud-based system for an updated personalized experience that is more accessible for all users. Project RISE aims to modernize and improve the way the University uses SAP (read more).

What is SAP and how is it used at UK?

SAP is a suite of enterprise software used to run core business functions, such as finance, human resources, and student enrollment. Many SAP functions are accessed via the myUK portal (myuk.uky.edu).

What does this mean for the UK community?

For many, the launch of Project RISE in July will bring changes to the look at feel of apps they use in the myUK portal (e.g., time entry, leave requests). For employees that use SAP modules in their daily job, a modernized version will be opened in a web-based interface rather than a desktop application.

The launch of Project RISE will also bring new features, like in-app support that will walk users through the updated version of SAP.

Here’s what you can expect from Project RISE:

  • SAP will be more responsive and accessible using any device via a web browser.
  • New embedded assistance and tutorials will help users easily navigate the system.
  • A new universal search function will allow users to search for any text that will result in specific data or applications within SAP.

What won’t change in July?

  • Many SAP screens will look similar to current screens.
  • Transactions, fields and business rules will remain mostly the same.
