UK, FCPS to celebrate Girls Who Game partnership

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 18, 2022) — Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) students who participate in Girls Who Game, will celebrate a recently launched program in partnership with the University of Kentucky this Saturday, Jan. 21. The STEM-focused, learner-driven program, Girls Who Game, was created by Dell Technologies, Intel and Microsoft to engage female students by providing opportunities to develop STEM and leadership skills while gaming.

  With the rising popularity in producing podcasts, the Student Media Depot @ the Hub in the University of Kentucky’s W.T. Young Library has risen to meet the needs of students and faculty. Podcasting is increasingly assigned as an alternative to standing up in front of a class to deliver a presentation on a course topic. Many instructors are asking their students to reach beyond a simple subject and make a podcast that is engaging and brings the material to life.

UK x Gen.G kicks off esports program with event for middle and high school students

Via UKNOW   LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 4, 2022) — The University of Kentucky, in collaboration with Gen.G Esports, will be hosting a free community event for middle and high school students to kick off a new esports program on campus. The event will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 (Election Day), at The Cornerstone. Early drop off and late pick up will be available to those who may need scheduling accommodations. Lunch will also be provided for the students who attend.

New feature in myUK GPS helps students progress more efficiently toward their degree

With fall priority registration underway, University of Kentucky students can begin utilizing a new feature in myUK GPS (Graduation Planning System) to help them keep track of their progress in their path toward a degree. Students can now see a percentage indicating the total progress they’ve made toward their degree requirements.
